Legends and stories from the bygone era suggest that Khadau came into existence because saints believed that electric currents flowing in the body are absorbed by the earth due to gravity. They also knew that wood was an insulator for electricity. Therefore, to save the biological potency, our ancestors crafted beautiful wooden slippers, which featured a toe section for added comfort. These sandals were initially worn by saints. That is why it is a trend to remove your shoes or sleepers before entering temples so that you can exchange positive energy from temples. Below I’ll add similar facts from various sources.

It has been told in Yajurveda that wearing Khadau protects us from many diseases. Know further the special things related to this tradition…
1. According to the law of gravity, the earth pulls everything towards itself. In such a situation, on coming in direct contact with the earth, the electric waves coming out of our body go into the ground.
2. When our sages (Rishi-Muni) researched this fact, it was found that all other types of things are good conductors of electricity i.e. even slippers made of them cannot be worn.
3. Wood is a bad conductor of electricity, by wearing it the electric waves of our body do not go directly to the ground. To save these waves, arrangements were made to wear khadau.
4. By wearing Khadau, the muscles of the sole become strong and due to acupressure, the body is saved from many diseases.
5. By wearing Khadau, the balance of the body remains correct, due to which it has a positive effect on the spinal cord.
6. By wearing wooden paduka in the feet, the flow of blood in the body remains correct. Along with this, positive energy keeps on developing in the body.

Yoga tells us that we've 7 sources in our body from which energy can be exchanged/lost. One of them happens to be our feet. Yogis spend numerous hours in supreme silence to increase their frequency and energy. The deal won't be done if they keep losing this efficient energy. This is why they have adopted wood- an insulator.
